Reinforcing steel

Reinforcing steel

Reinforcing steel is used primarily in civil engineering and serves for the armouring of building structures. This material is inserted into concrete in order to increase its bearing power and mechanical properties. In most cases, these are steel rods of circular cross-section, called the ribbed reinforcing steel, which is used either individually, or welded into meshes.

Ribbed rods are usually made in diameters ranging from 4 to 32 mm, from class 10 steel, so-called structural steel, characterised by sufficient yield strength. Sufficient steel ductility is important especially for the needs of bending and shaping of the rods according to the structure shapes. Insufficient material ductility can cause cracking at the bend, thus endangering the whole structure.

Welded wire meshes

Welded wire meshes

Welded meshes made from reinforcing steel are suitable for concrete structures. Plain meshes are used as an armature in reinforced-concrete structures, as additional meshes in concrete, for ceramic ceilings and floor heating, but also as fence meshes. Welded meshes are widely used in civil engineering.

Their use is wider and they may also be used for other purposes like:

  • fencing
  • plant support
  • or for cotes for domestic animals
  • warehouse pallets
  • industrial floors

We specialise primarily in the following qualities::

S235JR, S355J2, C 45, C 60, 16MnCr5, 42CrMo4, 18NiCrMo5

Inspection certificates 3.1 in accordance with ČSN EN 10024 are provided as a standard for all materials offered.

For forging treatment and machining of all supplies, we provide to our customers, as a standard, the following requirements: surface defects up to max. 0.3 mm, heat treatment, US testing, certificate as per EN 10204/3.1.

Alternatively, we also provide for other types of treatment, including heat treatment, peeling and surface grinding as required by the customer. In case of the customer’s individual need, we provide for the supplies of special kinds of steel with eventual deviations from the technical execution differential from the standard.
